REO Speedwagon finds its way across the US

Fresh off its first European jaunt in 20 years, REO Speedwagon is gearing up for a major US tour that stretches through November.

The classic rockers kick things off today (6/14) in Stockton, CA, and hit their share of fairs and festivals all over the country along the way. Details are listed below.

REO Speedwagon is supporting its April release, "Find Your Own Way Home," its first collection of new material in more than a decade. The 10-track album is being billed as a return the band's power-ballad/melodic-rock-anthem glory days. A few songs from the set are streaming at the REO's website.

"Find Your Own Way Home" is also available in a three-disc edition sold exclusively at Wal-Mart. The set includes the enhanced CD "Hi Infidelity Then Again ... Live," which features REO Speedwagon performing its most successful album, 1980's "Hi Infidelity," at XM Studios. It marked the first time the band has performed the album in its entirety since 1981. Also included is the "XM Artist Confidential" DVD, which has the band performing classic hits and new songs alongside interview footage and an audience Q&A.

The roots of the new album go back to the spring of 2000, according to REO Speedwagon's website. That's when the band joined fellow Midwest rockers Styx for a co-headlining tour, which ended up being recorded for a live CD and DVD.

REO, which formed in 1968, has produced 17 albums and has more than a dozen Top 40 singles under its belt, including No. 1 hits "Can't Fight This Feeling," "Keep On Loving You," and "Time For Me To Fly." To date, the band has sold 40 million albums, according to a press release.
