Hilary Duff set to bring 'Dignity' back to States
Teen pop-singer/actress Hilary Duff has announced dates for the US leg of her upcoming tour, which supports her latest studio album, April's "Dignity."
As previously reported, Duff will kick off her summer tour schedule with a run of Canadian shows, starting July 19 in Montreal. After the 12-city outing north of the border, she'll launch the US portion of her trek Aug. 6 in Everett, WA.
The new leg brings the singer's itinerary to a total of 27 cities, running from mid-July through early September. The full schedule is included below.
Released in April, "Dignity" is Duff's third solo album, and follows 2005's "Most Wanted." Duff has a hand in writing her own songs for the first time, a fact that stirred up a bit of controversy when many reviewers assumed the album's track "Gypsy" to be a slap at Nicole Richie, who is currently dating Duff's ex-boyfriend, Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden. She later told USA Today that the song was about the pain of her parents' recent split, and not her own break-up.
Duff is scheduled to appear in a pair of movies this year. Aside from providing her voice to the animated feature "Foodfight," she'll co-star with John Cusack in "War, Inc." an action movie about a hit man assigned to kill an oil minister.
Cusack lavished praise on Duff in a recent interview with MTV Movie News, calling her "a great actress. I just spent the entire fall with her and she was a revelation every day. I don't think people know that yet, but they're gonna."
