West Coast rapper The Game--real name Jayceon Terrell Taylor--was charged yesterday (6/4) in Los Angeles for a February incident during which he allegedly pulled a gun and threatened a man against whom he'd been playing basketball, according to published reports.
Taylor was charged with making a criminal threat and possessing a firearm in a school zone for allegedly pulling a gun from his red Cadillac Escalade after punching a player on the opposing team and threatening to shoot him, the Associated Press reported. The incident took place during a Feb. 24 pickup basketball game in South Los Angeles.
Police arrested Taylor last month in connection with the incident. He was subsequently released on $50,000 bail.
If convicted, Taylor reportedly could spend more than five years in a state prison.
The Latin Grammy Awards ceremony--which, in the past, has taken place in Miami, Los Angeles and New York--will relocate to Las Vegas this year, organizers announced today (6/5).
