Korn's Family Values coincide with untitled album
Shortly after Korn kicks off the Family Values Tour in July, the hard rockers will release their eighth studio album, which they won't bother to name.
"We didn't want to label this album," Korn frontman Jonathan Davis said in a statement. "It has no boundaries; it has no limits and why not just let our fans call it whatever they wanna call it?"
The set's first single, "Evolution," recently premiered on Los Angeles modern rock station KROQ and is currently streaming at Korn 's MySpace page. A behind-the-scenes video that documents the making of the song can be accessed at Korn's website. The full album, which follows March's "MTV Unplugged: Korn," is due to hit stores July 31.
Meanwhile, the band is playing the European festival circuit through July 7 before returning to the US to kick off the 30-city Family Values Tour July 20 in Maryland Heights, MO. The itinerary has undergone a bit of tweaking since last check; the updated version is listed below.
The festival's fifth installment has Korn co-headlining with Evanescence . Also on the main stage are Atreyu , Flyleaf , Trivium and Hell Yeah, the new band comprising Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott and members of Mudvayne and Nothingface. Newcomers Nuerosonic and Droid will round out the bill.
Family Values, which Korn and its management firm created in 1998, returned to the stage last summer following a five-year hiatus. With a second stage added and more than 400,000 tickets sold, the tour's 2006 comeback marked its most successful run.
This year's show will go on without Korn drummer David Silveria, who is on a temporary hiatus. Slipknot's Joey Jordison will fill in for Silveria on the Family Values trek. Terry Bozzio took over drum duties on the band's new album.
