'Unplugged' revived for Bon Jovi, The Police, Kenny Chesney
Bon Jovi , The Police , Kenny Chesney , Mary J. Blige and John Mayer are lined up to play upcoming "Unplugged" specials, which will expand far beyond their MTV home to sister networks VH1 and CMT.
Bon Jovi kicks of the new, cross-network edtions of "Unplugged" June 22 on MTV. Another Bon Jovi "Unplugged," this one tailored for the older VH1 audience, debuts June 23, and a third edition, cut for the country network CMT, debuts June 24.
Following the on-air premiere of each show, the shows will be available on MTV.com, VH1.com and CMT.com, respectively.
"When 'Unplugged' first premiered, it ushered in a new era of intimacy between artists and fans," said Van Toffler, President of MTV Networks' Music, Logo & Films Group. "Today, 'Unplugged' will be customized across our music channels--MTV, VH1 and CMT--as well as our multiple platforms, including online, mobile, VOD and radio."
Air dates for the new "Unplugged" shows featuring The Police , Chesney, Blige and Mayer haven't been announced.
