Brandi Carlile sets summer 'Story'-telling schedule
Singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile will alternate between opening for Indigo Girls and playing her own shows this summer as she backs her latest album, "The Story."
June 1 date in Seattle, then link up with the Indigo Girls before tackling an acoustic headlining appearance June 8 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The Cary Brothers will handle the opening slot for her first three shows, Mark Pickerel will open the June 8 performance and Reeve Carney will play a June 27 opening set. Carlile's full schedule, including both headlining and opening shows, is included below.
"The Story," which hit stores April 3, is the Carlile's second solo album and follows her self-titled, 2005 debut. She worked on the new set with Grammy-winning producer T-Bone Burnett (Counting Crows, Roy Orbison) in a Vancouver recording studio.
"The new songs may surprise people who only know us through the first album," Brandi said in her online bio. "If you've seen us play, you'll realize this is the direction we've been heading in the whole time."
