Madonna's Maverick Records Launches Latin Division
Madonna 's record label announced this week its foray into the Latin music scene with the launch of its new Latin Division. The division will focus on up-and-coming Latin artists.
"I think most people know how interested I am in pushing cultural and artistic boundaries, and I've always been inspired by the passion and spirit of Latin music," said Madonna in a statement released by Maverick.
Bruno Del Granado, a 16-year industry veteran who was part of the team behind "MTV Latin America," will head the division. Granado said the new division already has a few artists it is interested in, but he did not specify any by name.
Both Maverick and WEA Latina will be partners in this new endeavor.
