More cities added to John Mayer's itinerary
John Mayer has added a few more shows to his Continuum Summer Tour, which kicks off June 1 in Ridgefield, WA, and hits US arenas and amphitheaters from coast to coast into August.
Recent additions to the itinerary include stops in Nampa, ID; Des Moines, IA; and Manchester, NH; plus, a second show has been added at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Two-night stands are also scheduled in Morrison, CO, and Chicago. Details are listed below.
Ben Folds will be the special guest on the entire outing, and buzz artists Rocco Deluca & the Burden, Brett Dennen and James Morrison will take turns opening. Details about which bands will play at each show are available at Mayer's website.
Mayer is currently in the midst of a Canadian run, which wraps May 1 in Vancouver. Before launching the summer trek, the singer/songwriter/guitarist will also play a May 5 headlining slot at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
During the Continuum Tour, Mayer will head to New Jersey's Giants Stadium for the June 7 Live Earth concert, a 24-hour music event spread across all seven continents that aims to bring attention to the climate crisis.
Mayer's latest release, September's "Continuum," scored two Grammy Awards at the February ceremony: Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for the single "Waiting on the World to Change." A few songs from the record are streaming at the performer's MySpace page.
"Continuum" is Mayer's third full-length studio set and marks his first time as producer. It follows his 2003 solo effort, "Heavier Things," and the John Mayer Trio's 2005 live album, "Try!," on which Mayer collaborated with drummer Steve Jordan and bassist Pino Palladino.
During his career, Mayer has sold more than 9 million albums and won five Grammys, according to a press release.
