Meat Loaf continues to fly with Three Bats

April 23, 2007 11:10 AM
Meat Loaf has added another North American leg to his Three Bats Tour, which began in February with sold-out dates all over Canada and the Eastern US.

The theatrical rocker heads to Europe next month, but he'll be back in North America starting with a two-night stand July 18 and 20 at New York City's Theater at Madison Square Garden. Dates, which again stick close to the East Coast, stretch through early September.

Fan club members can get a jump on tickets with a pre-sale from April 30 to May 1, or non-members can go to Meat Loaf's website beginning April 23 to register for a pre-sale that begins May 2. Tickets will be available to the general public May 5.

North American shows are listed below, while those overseas, including an October string of dates in Germany, can be found at Meat Loaf's website.

The world tour supports the rocker's latest set, "Bat Out of Hell III: the Monster is Loose," which was released last Halloween. Thirteen years in the making, the album is the third installment in the rock epic, and the singer has hinted that it might be the last.

"Bat Out of Hell" was released in 1977 and stayed on The 200 Billboard album chart for 82 weeks, according to a press release. The sequel, 1993's "Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell," earned Meat Loaf a Grammy for Best Rock Vocal Solo Performance. The first two albums in the series have sold nearly 50 million copies combined.

Meat Loaf is also a successful actor, having appeared in more than 60 television shows and feature films from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" to last year's "Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny."

Starting tonight (4/23), Meat Loaf's life story will air on the Biography Channel.
