The Faint maps out late spring tour
With a new album supposedly in the works but no new product to push, indie rockers The Faint will launch what the band calls "a quick road trip around the country" in May.
The 15-city jaunt will kick off May 21 in Milwaukee, with the band heading first to the East Coast and then finishing up on the West Coast. The full itinerary is included below.
Originally known as Norman Bailer, The Faint was formed in 1994 and has undergone a large number of personnel and stylistic changes over the years. In recent years, the band's members have worked increasingly with various DJs on electronic remix projects. "Wet From Birth," released in September 2004, is the group's fifth studio album.
The band has been working on the follow-up to "Wet From Birth" for the last several months.
"Originally we were hoping to have the record done right now," said Petersen in a March interview with Pitchfork Media. "But, well, that's not happening!
"It's pretty much been the founding policy of the band that we keep working on stuff 'til we're all happy," Petersen told the website. "And sometimes to make five people happy, you have to try five different ideas on every little thing--it just kind of takes a long time."
