Prince to end Vegas run
Prince 's purple reign over Las Vegas' Rio Hotel & Casino will come to a close this month after six final performances.
The star took up residency in Vegas last November to play weekend gigs at the casino's 3121 nightclub, which was named after Prince's latest album. The singer, who recently scored the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Male Artist, has now decided to turn his attention to touring, according to local reports.
Prince's final shows at 3121 will be between April 13 and 28. Details are listed below.
Meanwhile, the Purple One is joining Christina Aguilera and Dave Matthews as featured artists for this year's Citi/AAdvantage Card-sponsored "Traveling Through Life" concert series. The series, which places arena-sized acts in more intimate venues, will find Prince doing a May 19 gig at San Francisco's Orpheum Theater.
The singer continues to support "3121," which was released in March 2006 and scored Prince his first No. 1 debut. He unveiled more new music in October on the "Happy Feet" soundtrack, to which he contributed the Golden Globe-winning tune "The Song of the Heart."
Prince's website hints at a new project--possibly an album--coming this summer.
