Beyonce continues 'B'Day' celebration with world tour

Beyonce , who has new music set to hit the streets Tuesday (4/3), will embark on a world tour this month that begins in Europe and will be in North America by summer.

After wrapping overseas shows in mid-June, the pop star will kick off the North American jaunt July 6 in New Orleans. Beyonce is scheduled to play arenas all over the US and Canada into September. North American dates are listed below; details about the European tour can be found at the singer's website.

Beyonce, who in last September released her sophomore solo album, "B'Day," to coincide with her 25th birthday, is offering up a deluxe, two-CD edition of the set on Tuesday (3/3), which includes five new songs and six Spanish-language tracks. She teams with Shakira on the lead single, "Beautiful Liar," and joins forces with Alejandro Fernandez on the song "Amor Gitano."

Also arriving Tuesday is Beyonce's "B'Day Anthology Video Album," which will be available exclusively at Wal-Mart. The collection features a slew of music videos and 15 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage.

"B'Day," which followed Beyonce's solo debut, "Dangerously In Love," scored the Grammy this year for Best Contemporary R&B Album. The win brought the singer's Grammy total up to 10 (seven as a solo artist and three shared with Destiny's Child).

Like "Dangerously In Love," the latest album debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart. "B'Day," which has so far spawned hit singles "Deja Vu," "Ring the Alarm" and "Irreplaceable," has sold 4 million copies worldwide, according to a press release.

The soundtrack to last year's "Dreamgirls," in which Beyonce co-starred with Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Hudson, also scored No. 1 status.

Ahead of her tour, Beyonce is doing the talk-show circuit, appearing this evening (4/2) on Larry King Live and performing on CBS-TV's The Early Show on Friday (4/6). She is also the subject of a BET network special, "B'Day-The Upgrade," which premieres today.
