Dave Matthews Band outlines US summer plans
The hard-touring Dave Matthews Band has laid out its summer plans, which include an extensive US outing.
Dates get underway July 8 in Bridgeview, IL, and take DMB from coast to coast, ending with a five-show California run in late September/early October. The trek includes two-night stands in Mansfield, MA; Hartford, CT; Camden, NJ; Noblesville, IN; East Troy, WI; West Palm Beach, FL; and Los Angeles. The band will also do a three-day gig--with an option for camping--at George, WA's famed Gorge Amphitheatre Aug. 31-Sept. 2. Details are listed below.
Opening acts that will take turns on the tour include Guster , Robert Earl Keen , Stephen Marley , Robert Randolph and the Family Band, The Roots, Xavier Rudd, Toots & the Maytals, Umphrey's McGee, The Wailers, and Pete Yorn.
Tickets go on sale to the public April 21. Pre-sale ticket requests will be taken at the official DMB fan association website beginning this evening (3/29).
Before launching its US dates, Dave Matthews Band will spend May in Australia and Europe. DMB's main man, Dave Matthews, will also do a few shows with Tim Reynolds in late April. Those shows are listed at DMB's website.
In addition to trotting the globe, Dave Matthews Band is expected to put out its seventh studio album this year. Details have not yet been released. In the meantime, Vol. 8 of the band's "Live Trax" series came out earlier this month.
Last year was chock full of DMB releases, as well; the band added three editions to its "Live Trax" series and offered up the double-CD set "Best of What's Around, Vol. 1."
The Grammy-award-winning band's latest studio effort is 2005's platinum-selling "Stand Up."
