Paul Rodgers plots shows behind live DVD release

Paul Rodgers has lined up a slate of shows in the United States over the coming months to back his first solo DVD release, "Live in Glasgow," and its companion CD.

The singer/songwriter, perhaps best known for his work fronting Bad Company (a position he also handled for Free in the early '70s and The Firm in the '80s), will return to the road this spring, kicking off his run April 13 in Atlanta. The performer has nine dates mapped out on his current tour schedule, detailed below, running through mid-June.

The DVD version of "Live in Glasgow" will ship May 29, with the CD version hitting stores April 17. The set was recorded last October and documents the last date of Rodgers' 2006 UK tour.

The 135-minute DVD was shot with 13 cameras, and includes Rodgers singing a pair of new songs--"Warboys (A Prayer for Peace)" and "Far Distant Shore"--as well as many classics from his back catalog, which stretches into the '60s.

The singer, who joined his Bad Company bandmates in 2002 for a reunion tour, toured extensively in 2005 with Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor. The popular "Queen + Paul Rodgers" tour sold out arenas across North America during its run.
