Briefly: Gwen Stefani, Bon Jovi, Wayne Coyne, KRS-One
No Doubt singer-turned-solo-sensation Gwen Stefani has announced plans to raise money for children's charities by auctioning off premium ticket packages for her upcoming tour.
According to a press release from Interscope Records, winning bidders will get four front row tickets, four concert T-shirts, four autographed copies of Stefani's latest album, and a backstage meeting for four with Stefani before the show. Proceeds will benefit Orangewood Children's Foundation and Children's Hospital of Orange County.
Complete details are available at the auction's webpage. Stefani's tour gets underway next month.
Bon Jovi will again headline the annual Tiger Jam concert in Las Vegas, which takes place May 26 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Tickets will hit the box office Saturday (3/24), according to a press release.
"I am thrilled to mark 10 years of Tiger Jam with Bon Jovi," golfer/event-founder Tiger Woods said in a statement. "We always welcome rock legends at Tiger Jam and having Bon Jovi headline is truly an honor. We have a lot to celebrate, so I know it will be an amazing night.
Tickets will be available through the venue's website, as well as via Ticketmaster.com. (Ticketmaster is LiveDaily's parent company.) Proceeds benefit the Tiger Woods Foundation, "an organization dedicated to empowering young people to reach their maximum potential," according to organizers. In the past, the group has redirected Tiger Jam funds to Child Haven, Center for Independent Living, Greater Las Vegas Inner City Games, Boys & Girls Club of Las Vegas, Grammy in the Schools, and The VH1 Save the Music Foundation.
Wayne Coyne, frontman for The Flaming Lips , will make a guest appearance on Thursday's (3/22) episode of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," according to Warner Bros. Records. Coyne will be seen during a pre-taped segment recorded at last week's SXSW Music Conference in Austin, TX, where Coyne served as a special-guest correspondent for "The Tonight Show'" by conducting "a series of impromptu on-camera interviews and observations," the label said in a press release.
KOCH Records has announced a May 22 release date for the latest album from hip-hop legend KRS-One . Titled "Hip Hop Lives," the set is being executive produced by Marley Marl.
