Brad Paisley firms up tour plans
After a little bit of tweaking, the itinerary appears to be set for Brad Paisley 's Bonfires & Amplifiers tour, which kicks off in late April.
The country star will play a few shows in March before launching the North American outing with support acts Jack Ingram, Kellie Picker and Taylor Swift. The trek will hit cities all over the US (along with Vancouver, British Columbia) through August. Details are listed below.
Paisley has also been announced as the grand-finale performer of June's CMA Music Festival in Nashville--his only gig this year in Music City, according to his website.
The concerts will give the singer/songwriter/guitarist a chance to preview new music from his forthcoming album, which is due this summer. The first single from the new set, "Ticks," is streaming at his MySpace page.
Paisley's latest record, "Time Well Wasted," scored him the 2006 Country Music Association's Album of the Year award. The set is the Grammy-nominated singer's fourth straight platinum album and his second double-platinum, with total sales topping 8 million, according to a press release.
On the touring front, Paisley's Time Well Wasted outing last year drew more than 750,000 fans, making it Pollstar's No. 4 country tour of the year.
Along with all the other accolades, the performer, who became a father last month, is up for the Academy of Country Music's Top Male Vocalist honor at the May 15 awards ceremony.
