After a harrowing drug problem and one gunshot injury, bassist Cris Kirkwood has rejoined his brother, guitarist/vocalist Curt Kirkwood, in the Meat Puppets [ tickets ]. (The original line-up is slightly altered as drummer Derrick Bostrom has not returned to the band. Ted Marcus is his replacement.) A notable event for music fans, the Meat Puppets will perform favorites as well as some new material that the band's been recording of late in Austin. Lucky Austin fans recently got a sneak peek at Meat Puppets new line-up when the band Army of Anyone--featuring Filter's Richard Patrick as well as Dean and Robert DeLeo, formerly of Stone Temple Pilots--invited Meat Puppets to play a song with them. --Christina Fuoco-Karasinski
