Singer/songwriter Neko Case [ tickets ], who opened several shows for country legend Merle Haggard in February, will return to the road for a new round of headlining dates starting in late March.

The singer will also join with her bandmates in her other ongoing concern, The New Pornographers [ tickets ], for their April 28 appearance at the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, CA.

The singer will kick off her next round of solo shows March 28 in Chicago, the first of three consecutive nights in that city. Her eclectic schedule includes dates with country legend Emmylou Harris and singer/songwriter Matt Pond PA, along with folkie Sonny Smith and country standby Charlie Louvin. Country traditionalist and multi-instrumentalist Jon Rauhouse will handle opening duties on most of the upcoming shows, which are listed below.

Case continues to back "Fox Confessor Brings the Flood," her latest studio effort. Released last March, the album is Case's fourth set of studio material since her 1997 debut, "The Virginian." The new album, produced by Case with Darryl Neudorf, was recorded in Tucson, AZ, with musical assistance from members of Calexico, The Sadies and Giant Sand, among others.
