John Mayer adds 'Continuum' summer tour
Following his double-Grammy win earlier this month, John Mayer has added a summer leg to his tour supporting his platinum-selling September release, "Continuum."
Mayer is currently touring the Eastern US and will wrap his winter trek Feb. 28 with a sold-out show at New York City's Madison Square Garden. He'll head to Australia April 1-12 before starting a Canadian run that will take him through May 1.
The singer/songwriter/guitarist will launch his summer jaunt June 1 in Ridgefield, WA, and play amphitheaters and arenas coast-to-coast into August, including a two-night stand at Colorado's famed Red Rocks. North American dates are listed below, and international shows can be found at Mayer's website.
The performer has also been tapped to join more than 100 acts who will perform as part of the July 7 Live Earth concert, a 24-hour event that will stretch across all seven continents to get the word out about the climate crisis.
After Mayer's recent Grammy wins for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, sales for "Continuum" increased 180 percent, moving the record back into the Top 10 of Billboards 200 album chart, according to a press release.
"Continuum" is Mayer's third studio album and marks his first time as a producer. The blues-infused set has spawned the No. 1 hit "Waiting on the World to Change" and current single "Gravity."
The new album is the follow-up to Mayer's 2003 solo effort, "Heavier Things," and the John Mayer Trio's 2005 live album, "Try!," on which the singer/guitarist collaborated with drummer Steve Jordan and bassist Pino Palladino.
Over the course of his career, Mayer has sold more than 9 million albums and racked up five Grammy awards, according to a press release.
