Tool postpones spring tour

Just about a week after most of Tool 's spring dates were announced, the band has postponed the tour because of an injury.

"Over the weekend, drummer Danny Carey tore a bicep," the band said in a statement. "Danny underwent surgery today (2/21) and is recovering well. Rescheduled tour dates will be announced shortly."

Tool was set to kick off its spring jaunt with two shows in Las Vegas March 15-16, and had dates across the US and in Canada through the end of April. The group is also booked to play the June14-17 Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN; that gig will likely go on as planned.

The prog-rockers just finished a run of dates in Australia and Japan. They've been playing all over the world supporting their fourth studio set, "10,000 Days," which debuted at the top of The Billboard 200 album chart upon its release last March.

The record, which earned Tool a Grammy nomination, marked the band's return from a three-year hiatus following its tour behind 2001's "Lateralus."
