Briefly: Britney Spears, Sheryl Crow, Prince, Busta Rhymes

For the second time in a week, Britney Spears reportedly has left a rehab facility less than 24 hours after checking herself in.

Entertainment Tonight reports that Spears left the Promises residential treatment center in Malibu, CA, this morning (2/21).

Last week, Spears reportedly checked herself into Eric Clapton’s Croassroads Centre in Antigua, but left the following day. The 25-year-old singer subsequently made headlines Friday (2/16) when she shaved her head bald and got two new tattoos; later in the weekend, she was spotted club-hopping while wearing a blonde wig.

Prince , who late last year began an ongoing run of weekly Friday- and Saturday-night performances at Las Vegas' Rio Hotel & Casino, may soon pull the plug on that gig, according to Las Vegas' KVBC-TV; the channel's entertainment reporter, Alicia Jacobs, told viewers that the legendary performer will cut ties with the venue March 31, and will turn his attention to a tour in support of his latest album.

Despite the report, a spokesperson for the Rio venue--dubbed 3121, the title of Prince's most recent studio release--told the Las Vegas Review Journal that "there's not a confirmed end date as of yet."

Rapper Busta Rhymes --real name Trevor Smith--is considering a plea deal that would allow him to remain free if he pleads guilty to charges stemming from a pair of alleged assaults that took place last year, according to published reports. The first incident occurred last August, and resulted in Smith being charged with assaulting a fan who allegedly spit on Rhymes' car; the other took place in December, when Smith allegedly assaulted his former driver.

Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Tanya Kennedy has told Smith he could receive a "conditional discharge" if he pleads guilty to third-degree assault, according to Newsday.
