Tool builds up spring itinerary
Prog-rockers Tool , who recently unveiled the initial batch of dates for their upcoming swing through North America, have rolled out the bulk of their schedule.
The tour's previously announced March 15-16 kick-off in Las Vegas remains intact, and the itinerary, which is included below, now stretches to the end of April. Stops are planned in about 30 cities, including a handful of late-February shows in Canada.
In related news, Tool is among the acts confirmed to perform at this year's Bonnaroo Festival. The just-announced lineup also includes reunited trio The Police, Widespread Panic and The White Stripes. The four-day festival is set to take place June 14-17 in Manchester, TN.
Tool continues to work the road behind its fourth studio album, "10,000 Days," which surfaced last March and debuted at the top of The Billboard 200 album chart. The set features the "Vicarious," which was nominated for a Best Hard Rock Performance Grammy. The cut didn't take the prize, but Adam Jones, art director for "10,000 Days," picked up the Best Recording Package trophy for the set's unique packaging, which features a built-in pair of 3-D lenses for viewing the CD booklet's 3-D photos.
"10,000 Days" marks Tool's return after a three-year hiatus following its tour behind 2001's "Lateralus." In the interim, frontman Maynard James Keenan focused on the sophomore effort from his successful, now-dormant side project, A Perfect Circle.
