Briefly: Beyonce, T.I., The View, Throbbing Gristle
Columbia Records will make the most of Beyonce 's Best Contemporary R&B Album win at Sunday (2/11) night's Grammy Awards by offering up a special edition of the singer's winning set, "B'Day."
Scheduled for release April 3, "B'Day - Deluxe" will feature two discs. The first will house the original tracklisting, as well as three new songs, among them a duet with Shakira; the second disk will contain six Spanish-language tracks, including a duet with Alejandro Fernandez, according to the label.
Grammy-winning rapper T.I. , who picked up a pair of trophies at Sunday's ceremony, will offer up a new album this summer, according to Atlantic Records. The new set, to be titled "T.I. vs. T.I.P.," comes just one year after "King," the platinum-certified collection that spawned the winning singles "What You Know" (Best Rap Solo Performance) and "My Love," featuring Justin Timberlake (Best Rap/Sung Collaboration).
A specific release date for "T.I. vs. T.I.P." has not been announced.
Scottish rock outfit The View has canceled a planned US tour scheduled for next month due to "unforeseen visa and immigration issues," according to the band's publicist. The group has also pushed back the US release of its inaugural album, "Hats off to the Buskers"--which debuted at No. 1 in the UK earlier this month--to May 8.
The band plans to reschedule the canceled dates.
Seventies-era act Throbbing Gristle is gearing up for the release of its first new studio album in over 25 years, according to Mute Records. The set, entitled "Part Two - The Endless Not," is due out April 3, and is the follow-up to 1980's "Heathen Earth." A sneak preview of the forthcoming track "Vow of Silence" is posted at the band's MySpace page.
