Lindsey Buckingham adds spring leg

Singer/guitarist Lindsey Buckingham keeps piling on the dates to support his first solo album in 14 years, "Under the Skin," which surfaced in October.

The outing's third leg launches March 7 in Tampa, FL, and covers the Eastern US into April. More shows are on the way, according to Buckingham's website. Confirmed dates are listed below.

"Under the Skin" is the Fleetwood Mac member's first solo album since 1992's "Out of the Cradle." Buckingham said he got to work on his latest solo project after reuniting with Fleetwood Mac for 2003's "Say You Will."

Because we get caught up in the traditional rock prototypes, some who have been around for awhile try to pretend they’re something they’re not," Buckingham said in his record label's bio. "But it is so important for an artist work to evolve with his maturity. At some point it is not about playing the game, but about the process of creating. Hopefully the outcome will be valid.”

Songs from "Under the Skin" are streaming at Buckingham's website and MySpace page.

The visionary musician doesn't intend to wait another 14 years before his next release. He told the Dallas Observer last month that he expects to return with another solo project in 2008 and that Fleetwood Mac plans to regroup once again for an effort to be released in 2009.
