Warped Tour lineup taking shape
This summer's 13th annual Vans Warped Tour is several months away but the lineup is already coming together, with Warped regulars Bad Religion at the top of the list.
The wheels are turning at Warped's website, which has been announcing bands as they are confirmed. The latest additons are The Unseen , The Matches , and Escape the Fate . Paramore, Cute Is What We Aim For, Tiger Army, The Almost, The Gallows, Big D and the Kids Table, K-os, and The Fabulous Rudies are also confirmed.
No dates have been announced yet, but the Warped Tour is set to kick off in June. Last year's outing stopped in 50 North American cities.
The Vans Warped Tour is America's longest-running touring festival, according to a press release. It is known for fusing a heap of cutting-edge acts with extreme sports and other attractions for a reasonable price. Last year's tickets cost $25.
Warped is being honored this year by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland. The Rock Hall will recognize the cultural relevance of the tour and its significance to the punk-rock/skate community with a six-month exhibit that launches Jan. 27. The exhibit, "Warped: 12 Years of Music, Mayhem and More," will feature memorabilia from No Doubt, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, NOFX, New Found Glory, My Chemical Romance, Joan Jett, Dropkick Murphys, Bouncing Souls, Rancid, Helmet, Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail, All-American Rejects and others, according to a press release.
When the exhibit's run is over in September, the items will be put into a time capsule to be stored for 25 years and opened at a special event in 2031.
Bad Religion, Paramore, Pennywise and Bouncing Souls are scheduled to perform at the museum Jan. 26 for an opening-night party.
