Briefly: Dispatch, Morrissey, Snoe.Down, Bonnaroo, Anberlin
The feat marks the first time an independent band has sold out the venue, according to the group's publicist.
As previously reported, Dispatch is planning to hit stage for the first time since July of 2004; the trio is now booked for a July 13-14 stand at the venue, proceeds from which will "go towards fighting disease, famine and social injustice in Zimbabwe," according to a press release. Additional information is available at the group's website.
British alt-rock pioneer Morrissey has announced plans for a three-night stand at Pasadena, CA's Civic Auditorium. Tickets for the trio of shows--which will run Feb. 1-3--hit the box office Saturday; details are available at the venue's website.
The Disco Biscuits, Brazilian Girls, Little Feat, Tea Leaf Green and The Slip are among the acts who've signed on for this year's Snoe.Down festival. The event--which is set to take place in Lake Placid, NY, March 23-25--will also feature a headlining performance from the festival's founding act, indie-jam outfit moe..
Ticketing info is available at the festival's website.
Bonnaroo organizers Superfly Productions and AC Entertainment have purchased a major portion of the Manchester, TN, site where the annual music festival is held, according to a press release, and will look to hold additional events at the venue.
"It's an incredible property that can lend itself to many different kinds of events and gatherings," Superfly's Jonathan Mayers said in a statement. "Our hope is that this will become one of the premier event sites in the world. We plan to work closely with all local officials as we determine what types of events will be a good match for this site. We are very open-minded about working with anyone interested in using the property."
As previously reported, the sixth-annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival will take place June 14-17 this year. More information is available at the festival's website.
