Celine Dion [ tickets ] and the cast of "A New Day ..." have started their fifth and final year of performances at Las Vegas' Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Nearly two-and-a-half million fans have come out to see the Franco Dragone-created production since its March 2003 opening at the $95 million Colosseum, which was designed for the show, according to a press release.

"The fans have been so supportive of us, and I want to thank them for taking this journey with me," Dion said in a statement. "Working with Director Franco Dragone and a wonderful cast of the most incredible artists has given me the opportunity to interpret my music in a very different and profound way, and to share a unique experience with audiences from around the world every night. When I began this adventure four years ago, I had no idea how magical this experience truly would be. As we prepare ourselves to say goodbye, I know this will be the best year yet."

John Meglen, president of show producer AEG Live, said the success of "A New Day ..." has surpassed everyone's expectations.

"That Celine still is selling out 4,000 seats a night after almost four years is a testament to her artistry, her passion and the connection that so many fans feel with her," he said in a statement.

"A New Day ..." is scheduled to close Dec. 15. Dates, which are listed below, are currently set through July. Tickets for the final block of performances from August through December will go on sale March 1.

Dion will take a break from the show when the Colosseum hosts Elton John Jan. 30 through Feb. 17.

On Jan. 17-21, "A New Day ..." will be filmed in high-definition for a TV special and DVD, which will include behind-the-scenes bonus footage, a press release said.
