Jonathan Richman maps out club tour
Singer/songwriter Jonathan Richman --who hasn't issued a new set since his 2004 release, "Not So Much to Be Loved as to Love," his 20th studio album--will embark on a club tour in February.
The trek launches Feb. 4 in New York, and Richman has tapped Spanish singer/songwriter Kiko Veneno to open.
Richman's 19-date schedule includes a two-week southern swing, highlighted by back-to-back shows in Atlanta beginning Feb. 16. The outing wraps up Feb. 27, the second of two straight nights in Austin, TX. Details are included below.
Richman, who gained widespread public attention following his role as musical narrator in the 1998 Farrelly Brothers' comedy "There's Something About Mary," was a founding member of the seminal new-wave group Modern Lovers in the early '70s.
