Goo Goo Dolls play with tour itinerary
The Goo Goo Dolls continue adding shows to their 2007 tour behind this year's "Let Love In," dates for which now stretch into the spring.
The pop-rock trio--which will cap '06 with a Dec. 29 show in Niagara Falls, NY, and a New Year's Eve performance in Anaheim, CA--plans to take January off, then return to the road in early February. So far, the schedule calls for stops in about 30 cities by late March. Details are included below.
Earlier this year, the Goo Goo Dolls delivered "Let Love In," their first new album since 2002's "Gutterflower." Founding members Johnny Rzeznik (vocals/guitar) and Robby Takac (bass) left their adopted hometown of Los Angeles and returned to their native stomping ground of Buffalo, NY, to record the new set.
"It just reminded me--this is who you are," Rzeznik said in a press release. "This is where you're from. It's never anything to be ashamed of, and it actually gave me strength to have a sense of my own history.
"It's so easy to come out to L.A. as an outsider and plant your head so far up your own ass you can disappear," he continued.
Rzeznik, Takac and drummer Mike Malinin ultimately set up shop in a 100-year-old Masonic Ballroom, where they recorded the disc with producer Glenn Ballard.
"Let Love In" features the cut "Stay With You," which is streaming at the Goo Goo Dolls' website.
