Lamb of God takes its fury to the club circuit
Grammy-nominated metal band Lamb of God , fresh off a sold-out tour abroad, has announced a club/theater outing that will hit 40 cities all over the US and Canada next year.
Dates kick off Feb. 16 in Dallas, TX, and fellow metal rockers Machine Head , Trivium and France's Gojira are on the bill. The itinerary is listed below.
The tour supports Lamb of God's sophomore Epic Records release, "Sacrament," which surfaced in August and debuted at No. 8 on The Billboard 200 album chart. It has since been named Album of the Year by Revolver Magazine, and the song "Redneck" recently scored a Grammy nomination in the Best Metal Performance category. That song and a few others are streaming at LOG's MySpace page.
Lamb of God spent the summer on the Unholy Alliance Tour with Slayer and joined Megadeth for the Gigantour in September. Now, the band is looking forward to taking its show back to the club circuit.
"There is no comparing the connection and shared energy of a club show," LOG drummer Chris Adler said in a statement on the band's website. "The blood, sweat, and beer flying--that's a proper metal show! This is intense music for intense people--we're sick of the seats, the ushers and the lame security guards telling people to calm down!"
He added that the band put an arena-show bill together, and then told its booking agent to put the tour in clubs and theaters.
"And, oh yeah, not just any clubs--let's make sure to hit a lot of cities that normally get overlooked," Adler said. "Let's bring the best show we can to the people that have been left waiting for far too long. This is going to be completely out of hand and we can’t f---ing wait! You have been warned!!!"
