Now entering the home stretch of his headlining slot atop the fifth annual CMT Tour, country singer Trace Adkins [ tickets ] has locked in plans for New Year's Eve, and has begun doling out dates for his 2007 roadwork.

Adkins will ring in the New Year with a performance at Nashville's Gaylord Entertainment Center, part of the 10th annual installment of an event dubbed the New Year's Eve Blast. That show will feature headliners Brooks & Dunn, as well as Jason Aldean.

Meanwhile, Adkins' 2007 schedule currently comprises eight dates that are scattered from late January through September. Details are included below.

Also shown below are the remaining dates for the CMT Tour, which, in addition to Adkins, features support from Aldean and fellow country singer Billy Currington.

Adkins has been working the road behind his latest album, "Dangerous Man." The set features the cut "Ladies Love Country Boys," the music video for which premiered on CMT earlier this month. Adkins filmed the cut in Los Angeles last month with director Michael Solomon.

Also this month, Adkins picked up a nomination in the "Favorite Male Singer" category for the 2007 People's Choice Awards. The winner will be named during a Jan. 9 ceremony that will is scheduled to air on CBS, according to Adkins' website.

On Jan. 27--the same night he'll be giving a concert in Winter Haven, FL--Adkins can be seen co-hosting "The Songs of the Year Concert," a two-hour music special scheduled to air on the Great American Country network. The event, which was taped Nov. 5 at Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony Center, will also feature Deana Carter & Heart, Currington, Jack Ingram, Jypsi, Lonestar and Jo Dee Messina, all of whom appear on the recently released "Songs of the Year" CD.
