NOFX plots brief January outing

Skate-punk band NOFX , still supporting last spring's "Wolves in Wolves' Clothing," will launch a short tour in February concentrated on the West Coast.

The Northern California band, which has released more than a dozen albums in a career spanning over two decades, will kick off its first mini-tour of the new year Jan. 3 in Anaheim, CA, the first of two back-to-back shows.

The group will also play a four-night engagement beginning Jan. 8 at the West Hollywood branch of House of Blues before bringing their short outing to a close Jan. 20 in Las Vegas.

"Wolves in Wolves' Clothing," released in April, follows 2003's "War on Errorism," and was produced by Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore in Colorado Springs, CO.

The 18-song, 30-minute set contains four songs from the band's recent "7” of the Month Club" series of singles: "Leaving Jesusland," "I'm Going to Hell For This One," "You're Wrong," and "You Lose Your Faith." The latest set from the politically active band, who launched the anti-Bush website Punkvoter.com in 2003, also includes the songs "USA-holes" and "The Marxist Brothers," which singer Fat Mike described in a press release as having "a hip-hop beat with ska/new-wave guitar and a Beatles melody."
