Briefly: Rolling Stones, Kid Rock, Jennifer Hudson, Montgomery Gentry
The Rolling Stones ' A Bigger Bang world tour has grossed $437 million worldwide since its fall 2005 launch, and is now the top-grossing tour of all time, according to Billboard.
The previous No. 1 tour was U2's 2005-2006 Vertigo tour, which grossed $333 million.
Billboard also quotes Stones tour producer Michael Cohl as saying that the Stones' tour may resume next year. "There are still a lot of cancellations in Europe that the band feel obligated to try and make up," he said.
Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson, who got married less than four months ago, reportedly are headed for divorce court.
Anderson filed the divorce papers in Los Angeles Monday morning (11/27), citing irreconcilable differences, TMZ.com reported.
Jennifer Hudson , a former American Idol contestant who co-stars in the new motion picture "Dreamgirls," has signed to Arista Records. She's expected to begin work on her debut album next year, according to the label.
Troy Lee Gentry, 39, of the country duo Montgomery Gentry , reportedly pleaded guilty Monday (11/27) to a charge of "falsely registering a captive bear as being killed in the wild," according to an Associated Press report.
In August, Gentry first appeared in federal court in Duluth, MN, in connection with the 2004 killing of a black bear that authorities allege he bought, shot in an enclosed pen with a bow and arrow, and then tagged as if it had been killed in the wild, according to Minnesota newspaper The Pioneer Press. The death was allegedly captured on a videotape that was later edited so that Gentry appeared to kill the bear--whose name was Cubby and who had been raised in captivity--in a "'fair-chase' hunting situation," the paper reported.
Under the misdemeanor plea, the singer agreed to pay a $15,000 fine, and to forfeit the bow-and-arrow used to kill the animal, as well as the bear's hide. He is also prohibited from hunting, fishing or trapping in Minnesota for five years, according to the AP.
In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped a felony charge of the Lacey Act, a law prohibiting the possession or transportation of illegally obtained wildlife, according to the AP.
