Jonezetta's 'Popularity' expands
Touring relentlessly behind its debut album, electronic/dance/punk band Jonezetta has just announced December US dates, this time with Action Action , We Are The Fury and Maxeen .
Jonezetta is currently on the road with Mute Math and The Whigs . The group's updated tour itinerary is listed below.
Following a bidding war, the Mississippi-based band signed with Tooth & Nail and released its debut album, "Popularity," in October. Songs from the record, which has garnered rave reviews from publications including the Washington Post and Spin, are streaming on Jonezetta's MySpace page.
The band members, who started Jonezetta during high school in the tiny town of Clinton, say they're out to make music that's fun and clever.
"People take themselves too seriously," vocalist/guitarist Robert Chisolm said in a statement on the band's website. "Music has become such a downer. We encourage kids to enjoy themselves."
And he assured that the band's small-town, modest mentality is intact.
"We want to be the first band to sell a billion records," Chisolm said laughing. "We want to play every continent in the world. And then, we want to meet Prince."
