My Chemical Romance leads 'Black Parade' through US
After wrapping up its current European jaunt, My Chemical Romance heads back to the United States for a series of radio-sponsored holiday shows.
The US performances get underway at the end of November, and a total of about a dozen appearances are lined up through mid-December. Details are included below.
The New Jersey band's new release, "Welcome to the Black Parade," debuted at No. 2 last week on The Billboard 200 album chart, selling more than 240,000 copies, according to the group's publicist. The album is streaming at its website.
A concept album about mortality, "Welcome to the Black Parade" is the third release from My Chemical Romance--singer Gerard Way, guitarist Ray Toro, bassist Mikey Way, guitarist Frank Iero and drummer Bob Bryar. The new disc follows MCR's 2004 double-platinum album, "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge."
"We all have records that shaped our formative years," Way said in a statement. "When you hear a song, it shoots you back to a moment in time. We want this album to do that for people."
