Willis, Robison wish audiences 'Happy Holidays'

Country music couple Kelly Willis and Bruce Robison will spread a little down-home Yuletide cheer next month on their "Happy Holidays 2006 Christmas Tour," which kicks off Dec. 2 in Dallas.

The tour supports the husband/wife team's Rykodisc release "Happy Holidays," a collection of 11 countrified holiday standards and originals, according to a press release.

Meanwhile, Willis and Robison, each an acclaimed artist in their own right, are keeping busy with their solo projects.

Willis is currently in the studio recording a new album, set for release next year. It follows 2002's "Easy," on which Willis collaborated with Vince Gill, Union Station's Dan Tyminski and Nickel Creek's Chris Thile.

Robison released his latest album, "Eleven Stories," in April. A highly regarded songwriter, he has also made a career of writing hit tunes for stars including the Dixie Chicks ("Travelin' Soldier"), George Strait ("Desperately"), and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill ("Angry All The Time").

Willis and Robison are also featured on the recently released compilation "Why the Hell Not ... The Songs of Kinky Friedman."
