Briefly: Latin Grammys, Beastie Boys, Voodoo Music Experience
Columbian singer Shakira took home four Latin Grammy Awards from Thursday night's (11/2) ceremony in New York City.
She claimed trophies for Record of the Year and Song of the Year for "La Tortura," a duet with Alejandro Sanz, as well as Album of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Album for "Fijacion Oral Vol. 1."
Reggaeton act Calle 13 won three awards.
The Beastie Boys will headline this year's Australian Good Vibrations Festival, which will visit four cities--Melbourne, Gold Coast, Sydney and Perth--in February.
Additional acts on the bill include Jurassic 5 , Timo Maas, Cassius, Nightmares on Wax and Desyn Masiello.
More details are posted at the festival's website.
This year's edition of the Voodoo Music Experience attracted a crowd of nearly 100,000 to New Orleans' City Park, a record for the eight-year-old festival.
Among the 75 acts that performed during last week's three-day festival were the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Duran Duran, Drive-By Truckers and My Chemical Romance.
