OK Go returns to US for headlining dates
On the heels of some good news about their latest single, alt-popsters OK Go are set to return home from a month of shows in the UK for a six-week headlining tour in the States.
The band's current single, "Here it Goes Again," is currently the most-played video on both MTV and VH1. And the video has also ridden the No. 1 slot on iTunes' US video-music chart for the past four weeks.
The Chicago band will celebrate its string of recent successes with a free Oct. 7 show in Ann Arbor, MI. The outdoor set will take place at the University of Michigan before that day's football game between Michigan and Michigan State.
The group will kick off its fall headlining run Oct. 14 in Cincinnati, the first of 23 shows in 21 cities as the band continues to support 2005's "Oh No."
Released last August, "Oh No" entered Billboard's Heatseekers chart at No. 1, as did OK Go's 2002 self-titled debut. The group recorded the newer set in Malmo, Sweden, with Franz Ferdinand producer Tore Johansson.
According to a press release, the video for "Here It Goes Again" has been viewed more than eight million times on youtube.com. The video for the group's previous single, "A Million Ways," ranks as the most downloaded music video ever.
