Guns N' Roses push back four dates
It wouldn't be a Guns N' Roses tour if things went off exactly as planned, so it comes as no surprise that Axl Rose and company have announced some tweaks to their upcoming itinerary.
The group--without announcing a reason--has postponed until this winter planned shows in four Western cities: Fresno, CA; Bakersfield, CA; Reno, NV; and Sacramento, CA. The new dates for those cities are in the itinerary below. Fans holding tickets for the old dates can use them for entry to the rescheduled shows, or can get refund information at their point of purchase.
Meanwhile, the group has also added a few new November shows to its itinerary: Nov. 3 in Huntington, NV; Nov. 13 in Baltimore; Nov. 15 in Toronto; Nov. 17 in Ottawa, Ontario; and Dec. 17 and 19 in Universal City, CA. GN'R now has 15 dates on its schedule between now and January.
Over the weekend, GN'R headlined radio station KROQ's Inland Invasion festival in San Bernardino, CA, a gig that marked Rose's first GN'R concert appearance in the Southern California area in well over a decade.
The most recent major US tour by GN'R took place in 2002. That troubled outing was cut short with more than a dozen shows remaining on its schedule after frontman Axl Rose failed to show up for two gigs. The band recently wrapped up a European trek.
Rose is the only remaining original member of GN'R. The group is currently rounded out by keyboardist Dizzy Reed, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboardist Chris Pitman, drummer Brian "Brain" Mantia, and guitarists Robin Finck, Richard Fortus and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal.
GN'R has been working the road in advance of its supposedly soon-to-be-released album, "Chinese Democracy." The disc, which has been in the pipeline for about a decade, and the release of which has been delayed repeatedly over the years, will be the group's first collection of original material since the early '90s. No specific release date has been announced.
