Jewel carves out new 'Wonderland' dates
Singer/songwriter Jewel has scheduled fresh November shows in support of her latest studio album, this spring's "Goodbye Alice in Wonderland."
The singer will tackle eight shows over a two-week stretch, kicking off with a Nov. 7 concert in Verona, NY. The November trek is comprised completely of East Coast/New England dates.
Before heading out for her newly scheduled dates, Jewel will take part in the Oct. 5 Lounge for Life concert in West Hollywood, CA. The fundraising show, which benefits breast cancer research, will also feature alt-rockers Train and singer Ray LaMontagne.
For her first album in three years, Jewel worked with producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls). The album follows 2003's "0304," which debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 album chart, the highest chart debut of Jewel's career.
"This is the most autobiographical album I have made since 'Pieces of You,' and I spent a lot of time sequencing it, so that each song sets up the next, like a novel with a beginning, a middle and an end," the singer said in a press release.
"It is the story of my life--from the extreme solitude of Alaska to my first trip to Hollywood--from my rise to fame to the cliche crisis of betrayals by those closest and most dearly trusted."
"Pieces of You," released in 1995, was Jewel's debut studio album.
