"Depeche Mode : Touring the Angel, Live in Milan," will premiere in 78 select movie theaters across the US on Sept. 25, the day before the new concert DVD lands in stores.
The two-hour theater screenings will feature 20 minutes of exclusive tour documentary coverage that will only be seen at the special event. A list of theaters screening the film, as well as additional information, is available at www.BigScreenConcerts.com.
"Touring the Angel" was recorded in February 2006 during two shows at Milan's Fila Forum.
The Afghan Whigs plan to begin rehearsals later this month on their first new material in eight years, which will appear on an upcoming Rhino Records band retrospective dubbed "Unbreakable."
According to the official Twilight Singers website (The Twilight Singers are Afghan Whigs frontman Greg Dulli's current group), after four days of rehearsals, the Afghan Whigs--John Curley, Greg Dulli, Rick McCollum and Michael Horrigan--will travel to Memphis, TN, to record at Ardent Studios with longtime Whigs collaborator Jeff Powell.
The band recorded its 1993 album "Gentlemen"--widely considered its best work--at Ardent, and returned there to mix its 1996 follow-up album, "Black Love."
A new, four-disc Dolly Parton album dubbed "The Acoustic Collection 1999-2002" will hit stores on Oct. 10. According to a press release, the set includes three previously-released albums--"The Grass is Blue," "Little Sparrow" and "Halos and Horns"--as well as a bonus disc that includes five new song mixes, two performances from the tribute album "Just Because I'm a Woman" and music videos.
Former Guided By Voices leader Robert Pollard will issue his second post-GBV solo album, dubbed "Normal Happiness," on Oct. 10.
