The Afghan Whigs plan to begin rehearsals later this month on their first new material in eight years, which will appear on an upcoming Rhino Records band retrospective dubbed "Unbreakable."

According to the official Twilight Singers website (The Twilight Singers are Afghan Whigs frontman Greg Dulli's current group), after four days of rehearsals, the Afghan Whigs--John Curley, Greg Dulli, Rick McCollum and Michael Horrigan--will travel to Memphis, TN, to record at Ardent Studios with longtime Whigs collaborator Jeff Powell.

The band recorded its 1993 album "Gentlemen"--widely considered its best work--at Ardent, and returned there to mix its 1996 follow-up album, "Black Love."
