Placebo to play US shows with She Wants Revenge

August 23, 2006 04:54 PM
British rockers Placebo will back their latest album, this year's "Meds," with their first string of US shows in three years, most of which will find the band teamed with fellow rock act She Wants Revenge .

Placebo launches its roadwork with a trio of mid-October headlining shows in the Phoenix area, San Diego and Las Vegas, and will then link up with She Wants Revenge for a dozen dates that begin Oct. 22 in Los Angeles. Details are included below.

Released in May, "Meds" is the follow-up to 2003's "Sleeping With Ghosts." The new disc features guest appearances from Michael Stipe (R.E.M.) on the cut "Broken Promise," and Alison Mosshart (The Kills) on the set's title track.

Placebo's MySpace website features a track-by-track explanation of the meaning behind all 13 songs on "Meds," along with audio streams of the "Meds" cuts "Infra Red" and "Pierrot the Clown."

She Wants Revenge, which features Los Angeles DJs Justin Warfield and Adam "Adam 12" Bravin, is backing its self titled debut, which hit stores back in January.
