Vince Gill plots tour behind massive new album

The day before his forthcoming four-disc album (yes, four-disc album), "These Days," hits stores, country veteran Vince Gill will launch a US tour in support of the mammoth set.

Gill's roadwork begins with a release-eve show in New York City, and he plans to hit about two-dozen cities by the time Thanksgiving rolls around. Also on the schedule is an early December, three-night stand in Las Vegas. The itinerary is included below.

On Oct. 17, Gill issues "These Days," his first new collection since 2003's "The Next Big Thing." The album comprises 43 songs, all of which Gill wrote or co-wrote, according to a press release. The singer also co-produced the set with the help of keyboardist John Hobbs and sound engineer Justin Niebank.

"These Days" features more than 20 guest performers, including Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, Diana Krall, Rodney Crowell, Phil Everly, the Del McCoury Band, Emmylou Harris, John Anderson, Lee Ann Womack, Amy Grant, LeAnn Rimes, Gretchen Wilson, Guy Clark, Trisha Yearwood, Bekka Bramlett, Michael McDonald and steel-guitar virtuoso Buddy Emmons.

Gill's new album features the lead-off single "The Reason Why," which is streaming at his website.

Gill is married to fellow singer Amy Grant. Last December, the couple mounted their fourth-annual holiday tour, the announcement for which came in late August. No word yet on whether a fifth edition of the outing will take place this year.
