Suspect nabbed for Atlanta concert death

Authorities have arrested a 24-year-old Atlanta-area man and charged him with delivering a fatal punch to Andy Richardson, 30, during a recent Family Values Tour concert.

Police, carrying a warrant in connection with the Aug. 1 incident at Atlanta's HiFi Buys Amphitheater, arrested Michael Scott Axley on Monday (8/7), according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

According to police, Richardson was downed by a single punch. The Deftones were playing when the incident took place, according to a statement issued by Korn .

Friends of Richardson told the newspaper that there had been a scuffle between Richardson and a group of men earlier in the night, after the men tumbled down a hill and ran into him and his friends.

Later in the night, two men returned to confront Richardson. One reportedly snatched Richardson's hat from his head. "The guy threw the hat back at him," one of Richardson's friends told the newspaper. "And when [Richardson] caught it, the guy hit him in the face and [Richardson] hit the ground and hit the concrete with the back of his head. He just collapsed."

The man who threw the punch and another man reportedly then ran off, disappearing into the crowd.

Richardson, who suffered severe brain damage, was declared dead two days after the incident, and his organs were donated.
