Willie Nelson locks in solo dates amid tour with John Fogerty

Willie Nelson will spend much of what's left of the summer working the road with John Fogerty , but the country legend has also booked a healthy dose of his own headlining dates for the coming weeks.

Nelson's outing with Fogerty launches Saturday (7/22) in West Palm Beach, FL, and the two are scheduled to hit the stage in just over two dozen cities by the end of August. Before then, Nelson will squeeze in a show tonight (7/20) in Daytona Beach, and has slipped five additional solo performances into the cracks of his itinerary with Fogerty.

Also on Wilson's docket is a stretch of post-Fogerty shows that run from early September into early October and include a three-night stand at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, as well as his customary performance at the annual Farm Aid concert, which this year takes place in Camden, NJ. Additional details about his schedule are included below.

Nelson, who is perpetually on tour, manages to release albums at a prodigious rate, the latest of which, "You Don't Know Me: The Songs of Cindy Walker," surfaced earlier this year. The disc, which follows last year's reggae/country set "Countryman," features Nelson covering such Walker favorites as "Sugar Moon," "Cherokee Maiden," "Miss Molly," "Bubbles in My Beer" and "You Don't Know Me," which was originally made famous by Ray Charles.

As if touring and recording weren't enough to keep the 73-year-old country legend busy, he has also become the standard-bearer for XM Satellite Radio's traditional country-music station, which earlier this month was dubbed "Willie's Place." Nelson "will provide creative direction for the channel, as well as contribute exclusive programming to 'Willie's Place' and other XM commercial-free music channels."
