Headlining gigs ahead for KT Tunstall

Scottish singer/songwriter KT Tunstall , who found near-instant success with her debut album, "Eye to the Telescope," returns to the US this fall for another round of touring.

Tunstall's newly unveiled itinerary includes headlining gigs at clubs in 17 cities, as well as an appearance at the Sept. 17 Austin City Limits Festival.

"Eye to the Telescope" was issued in the UK in January 2005, and its official US release didn't come until a year later. The album agreed with American ears as well, gaining gold status from the Recording Industry Association of America three months after its release.

Driving the set's US sales was lead single "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree," which garnered strong radio play and also ended up in VH1's video rotation. Six months after its US release, the album sits at No. 35 on The Billboard 200 chart--just two slots off of its peak.

The second album from the album, "Suddenly I See," is the opening song in the new Meryl Streep/Anne Hathaway film "The Devil Wears Prada."

The video clip of "Suddenly I See" is due to premiere July 25 on VH1.com, and will have its VH1 cable premiere July 29 on the "VSpot Top 20 Video Countdown."

"My songs examine and explore little specific emotions or situations or stories," Tunstall explained in her record label biography. "They're kitchen table songs, like a conversation between me and one other person. It's almost like an alien has been sent to get emotional samples from human beings and put it all together on a record."
