Chris Brown, Ne-Yo set co-headlining tour

Fans of R&B stars Chris Brown and Ne-Yo will have a chance to see both of the performers on the same stage this summer when the pair join up for their co-headlining "Up Close & Personal Tour."

The trek, which also features Lil Wayne , Juelz Santana and Dem Franchize Boyz , kicks off Aug. 17 in Cincinnati. The 29-city tour will run well into October, with stops in most major US markets.

"It's gonna be a lot of screaming girls there, a lot of fans in general," Brown said in a press release. "It's gonna be a great all-around show that everybody, including myself, can have fun with."

The tour's headliners are both 17-year-olds who have garnered a heap of success in short fashion.

Brown, whose debut single, "Run It," vaulted him to the top of the Billboard singles chart at the tender age of 16, released his self-titled, full-length debut album last year. The disc entered The Billboard 200 chart at No. 2 last November and reached platinum status in six weeks.

The Virginia teen recently completed a busy spring tour that brought him to clubs and college campuses in the eastern half of the country.

Like Brown, Ne-Yo (born Shaffer Smith) found a quick ramp to early success. The Las Vegas-bred singer entered the music business initially as a songwriter, penning material for boy band Youngstown and R&B crooner Mario. His "Let Me Love You," performed by the latter, emerged as one of the most-played songs on urban radio in 2004.

Ne-Yo's debut album, "In My Own Words," hit stores in late February and earned the singer a No. 1 single with "So Sick."
