Tool hammering out late summer shows

Tool , which last month issued its latest album, "10,000 Days," and mounted a three-week US theater run behind the set, is cobbling together plans for a North American arena tour that will launch later this summer.

So far, the group has floated only a handful confirmed dates, most of which are set on the West Coast, as well as a two-night stand in Honolulu, HI. Tickets for most of the dates are scheduled to hit the box office Saturday (6/24). Details are included below.

According to a somewhat cryptic message posted at Tool's website, "there will be A LOT MORE SHOWS ADDED ... as well as some other things that should make certain people very happy."

Last month, Tool delivered "10,000 Days," its fourth studio album and its first since 2001's "Lateralus." The disc moved about 550,000 copies during its first week in stores, more than enough to score a No. 1 debut on The Billboard 200 chart.

Tool is currently in the midst of a European tour that wraps up next month. More information about that trek is posted at the group's website.
