Beyonce searches for all-female band

Beyonce Knowles plans to launch a nationwide search next week for an all-female band to back her on a planned tour to support her forthcoming album.

According to a press release, the former member of Destiny's Child is auditioning for drums, keys, bass, guitar, horns (alto, tenor, sax, trumpet) and percussion.

During the auditions, musicians (18 years and older) should be prepared to play Beyonce's hit "Work It Out" as it's performed on her "Live at Wembley" DVD.

"In addition to having a 'look,' musicians auditioning for Beyonce's touring ensemble must be able to play by ear (reading music is optional)," said the press release. "Musicians auditioning must be able to play one minute (minimum) solo," and should bring a headshot and resume to the audition.

After finalists are chosen at various local auditions (listed below), Beyonce and her creative team will hold final auditions during the week of June 12, and the selected musicians "must be available to begin working on the road by June 20," according to the press release.

As previously reported, Beyonce is scheduled to release a new album titled "B'Day" on Sept. 5, the day after her 25th birthday.
