Briefly: The New Cars, Beck, Eminem, Steve Earle

Elliot Easton, guitarist for The New Cars , suffered a fractured left clavicle when he was thrown from a bunk as the band's tour bus swerved to evade another vehicle, according to the group's publicist.

The accident occurred early Monday morning (6/5), as the band was traveling from the Cleveland area to a gig the Washington, DC, area.

According to a press release, Easton was taken to a local hospital where he told the doctor, "I've been waiting 17 years for this tour, I'm not missing any shows," a press release said.

The tour resumes as scheduled tonight in Vienna, VA.

Beck recently wrapped up the recording of a new studio album, which is due in stores this fall.

According to Beck's official website, the as-yet-untitled album was produced by Nigel Godrich, who also turned the knobs on Beck's latest album, "Guero," as well as the two albums that preceded it, "Sea Change" and "Mutations."

Eminem and his publishing companies reportedly have reached settlement agreements with five companies they claimed were illegally selling Eminem ring tones on the Internet.

Terms of the agreement weren't disclosed, the Detroit News reported.

Singer/songwriter Steve Earle 's "Live at Montreaux 2005," recorded and filmed at Switzerland's Montreaux Jazz Festival, will be issued July 11 on CD, and Aug. 22 on DVD.
